Preview Deadlight for Xbox Live Arcade

Deadlight is a sidescrolling, survival horror, cinematic platformer, due August 1st for Xbox Live Arcade developed by Tequila Works and published by Microsoft Studios.

Set in 80's America, you play as Randall Wayne, a common garden scientist, who happens to find himself in an apparent virus outbreak.  Set against a post-apocalyptic backdrop the game begins 145 days after Patient Zero, and as you can see from the trailer owes a big nod, kiss, hug and wink to The Walking Dead, the Road and a drop of Epyx's Impossible mission for C64 and recent XBLA hit I Am Alive by Ubisoft.

Seriously prime ingredients and perhaps just enough to reawaken my interest in 2D scrollers.........

Tequila CEO and creative director Raul Rubio says "Deadlight is not an objective story. It is told through the eyes, thoughts and diary entries of Randall Wayne."

.....with a decent storyline.

That's looking a bit ace! Some of the shots in the trailer are reminiscent of Another World and Flashback which I thought were totally awesome games. 2D side-scrolling post-apocalyptic survival horror platforming FTW!

Loving the athmospheric screens, the 80's setting and how could I forget Flashback and Another World.... It does indeed have that "classic" feel to it...

Alf! Cigars and Brandy for our guest...

Ooh I do like a spot of brandy! Oh and I brought my own lighter this time... The redecorating looks good by the way!

And thank you kindly for the retweeting action yesterday

Retweeting is my pleasure, and I'm thoroughly enjoying the popbucket articles yourself and James are producing :)

Alf has undergone a 3 month intensive fire safety course and Blogger have insisted on fitting sprinklers which causes untold difficulties trying to cook a decent fry up, but I feel much safer.

(hands Bickle an umbrella...)

now how about some finger food perhaps???

Nice brolly cheers. Must be annoying that everything is damp all the time...? As for finger food... got any crisps? After gaming and beer, crisps are my 3rd favourite hobby! Plus the packets keep the contents nice and dry :)

:) Aye the dampness is a pain, but surely worth the extra safety it a ah... affords....achooooo! ... :(

(......examines packet of crisps)

Perhaps I can learn from this wondrous technology.....Alf!! more fresh crisps for my learned guest!

(places empty crisp packet over sprinkler sprocket)

:) Bickle, you are verily a genius!!
